Inside The Love

At this time last year, I was moving fast forward on my idea of a custom jewelry website and had established the name, created the LLC and was evaluating logo designs. One year later,  HarpersLove is now a reality. Over the last 12 months, I have fallen deep into the experience of putting everything I have into this idea. 

I have this vision for what I believe I can make HarpersLove become but it comes down to the reality of will it be? Every day I wake up and I ask myself, will today be the day where I get the big break? Some days, I feel completely nervous and grey. Other days, I get over come by excitement about what I can accomplish. The emotions of starting a business are exhausting and when you do it alone, it is overwhelming to say the least. The key is to allow every feeling run through your head, allow the grey days to be there, but never give up on the idea.

I do not have a boss, I do not have a team, I do not have co-worker, I do not have a commute, I do not have a salary. When I worked in the traditional corporate world, there were so many people to meet, mingle, gossip with and gossip about. Your day was filled with 5-6 meetings, maybe 1 productive meeting and a minimum of 3 hours of emails that resulted in no more than 1 significant decision a day. Seriously, not exaggerating. Now, I squeeze in work during my kids' nap times, during their play time in the am and pm if they let me and any time I can get away for a few minutes to think. I accomplish more in a 2 hours than I used to be able to in 8 hours + 2 hours of commuting. 

When I had a boss, a team, co-worker, I would spend my time concerned and anxious about the politics of it all. How exhausting!!! Today, my thoughts are towards my vision, my ideas for making it happen and the excitement of it all. Now the question is, can my vision, my dream be realistic?

The goal right now is 2 things: get the word out and get funded

Her vision is to create a company where the culture is about business excellence, innovation, fun and family focus for employees of various backgrounds and years of experience. Furthermore, she spoke about creating a shopping experience to meet the needs of the modern consumer.

The custom jewelry business has a social presence via Facebook, Tumblr, MySpace and Twitter (@HarpersLove). Members can receive special discounts and news on products, events and website changes.

Michelle Mullman founded and launched HarpersLove in 2012. The website officially was released at the end of 2012 in time for the holiday season. The company was self funded by Ms Mullman and she is currently taking steps to secure additional funding to move the company to the next level. Celebrating HarpersLove Launch

Last Thursday, November 15 we celebrated the launch of HarpersLove with friends and family in Millburn, NJ at Moonshine-ModernSupper Club. As part of the festivities, we also raised funds to support the The American Red Cross Sandy Disaster Relief program.

At the launch party, guests were able to view and experience the first line of Harperslove pendants as well as examples of the earrings that can be designed from the website.

To celebrate the launch and raise funds for The American Red Cross, Harperslove provided giveaways including a pair of three stone earrings, currently valued at $677.50, and $100 / $200 credit towards a pendant purchase. Local companies, Samara’s Sweets and Vera Food and Wine Distributors, also donated prizes to celebrate the night.
